Parents Involvement in the Integration of Young Pupils in School

Anca Simion, Babes-Bolyai University (Romania)

Abstract

Parental participation in the children’s school daily life is important because the teachers’ involvement in the integration of young pupils in school is limited to classroom activities only. For an effective integration of young pupils, the parents should collaborate with the teachers in regards to knowing certain rules and regulations concerning the school’s requirements. Therefore, the teachers must work towards a basic approach in sharing the school’s requirements. These requirements are set by the school or by the teacher themselves and facilitate the integration of the young pupil in the school “society” and also in the classroom. The teacher uses certain instruments in order to inform the parents about the classroom and school regulations. These instruments can consist in counselling sessions, workshops, personal experience, questionnaires. The current paper presents the integration process, in collaboration with the parents, which was used in a primary classroom in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
