Global Factors of Influence and Modern Approaches of Media Education in Educator’s Training System

Abstract

 

The modern world is the world of media. Not only the new generation of Z or the "generation of gadgets" lives in the media environment. Almost any educator uses media daily and constantly.

The modern educational environment is global. Factors affecting its development are diverse.

One of important aspect of influence in the modern educational environment is the change in the role of the educator as a whole. The request of the society for the results of his works, and therefore on the profile of competences has changed significantly, and continues to undergo changes.

All competencies are integral, complex and interdisciplinary. Media competencies occupy a significant place in the new profile of competencies.

It is important to note that in general, the use of media education in the system of professional development of teachers should be divided into two areas:

- Technological use of media;

- Meaningful use.

In this regard, given the global challenges in the modern educational environment, the specifics of media education and the change in the educational paradigm, as mentioned above, it is necessary to talk about the broad inclusion of media education technologies in the modern educational process.

Many educational organizations are transitioning to learning on the basis of problem-solving learning.

In the system of professional development of educators this approach allows solving a lot of educational and developmental tasks.

And, finally, it is possible to use the following media and new tools in training system:

- Implementation of media training or real media projects of participants in the system of professional development;

- The formation of a single educational and media space for a group of participants in the system of professional development;

- Master classes with presentation of best practices;

- Events;

- Multimedia resources in the learning process;

- Problematic seminars to discuss current topics and the practice of media education;

- Case study and other practices.

Thus, the use of innovative teaching methods in the process of professional development allows creating and developing the media competence of teachers of any level as efficiently as possible.
