Deborah Zuercher

Dr. Deborah Zuercher is a tenured Associate Professor in the Institute for Teacher Education at the University of Hawaii.

Dr. Zuercher empowers teacher leaders to positively impact student achievement. She has served as a classroom teacher, school administrator, research consultant, and university teacher educator. Deborah is a tenured associate professor at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and the Principal Investigator for the American Samoa Program. She teaches in Hawai’i, American Samoa, and across Micronesia.

In 2013, Dr. Zuercher earned the College of Education Congress Leadership Award and a Fulbright Administrative Scholarship to Germany. Her research interest is applied qualitative research, contextualized within unique cultural learning environments.

She lives on the island of Oahu where she enjoys hiking, kayaking, scuba diving and horseback riding.
