Jayne Ameri is a life long learner. She received her BA from Rutgers University in Foreign Language. She studied at Universitá degli Studi di Firenze. She attended Goethe Instiut, Prien, Germany and obtained Deutsch Als Fremdsprache Zertifikat. She obtained an MBA in International Finance from Adelphi University. She attended SUNY at Old Westbury College and completed Education Coursework for Teaching Certification. She currently holds a dual New York State Permanent Certificate:
Italian 7 - 12 , Pre Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Grades 1 - 6.

After a career in international business she entered the teaching field in 1999. She has taught Italian and currently teaches Spanish at Long Island School for the Gifted in South Huntington, NY. Previously, she taught second grade for 13 years. She was Project Director for "Children’s Japanese Cultural Immersion Fair", a global initiative funded in part by a grant from Japan Foundation for Global Partnership, and Cultural Director of "Passport to Italy: Through a Child’s Eye", funded by various Italian corporations. She lectured on Creativity and Technology at the NYSAIS Education and Information Technology Conference. She serves as a cooperating teacher for two universities in Child and Adolescent Study Program Junior and Senior Practicum. She is a member of AASPT and FLACS.

She is passionate about teaching foreign language and committed to the success of each student. She welcomes the opportunity to participate in the 7th ICT and Language Learning Conference, 2014, and share her experience using technology to interject today’s digital world in the classroom.
