Edward Tindi is a Local Technical Advisor of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the Strengthening Teachers’ Performance and Skills (STEPS) Project in Zambia conducted by the Ministry of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education supported by JICA.
His first degree B.Sc (Ed) was in 1978 University of Zambia, Zambia, followed by Diploma in Science Education in 1982 at Njala University College, Sierra Leone and Masters in Science Education in 1989, University of Bristol, UK.
He worked in the Ministry of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education from 1978 to 2008 as a science teacher, teacher educator and an in-service education officer. Since retirement, he has constantly been working in the field of In-service Continuing Professional Development.
In the STEPS Project (2011– 2015), Edward Tindi is responsible for assisting the Ministry in the management and implementation of the School Based Continuing Professional Development of teachers through practice of Lesson Study.
At regional level, Edward Tindi has been active in the championing of mathematcs and science teaching/learning through Strengthening Mathematics and Science Education (SMASE) in Africa, serving as a chair of the SMASE – WECSA (2007 – 2013).
