Nilson Kunioshi is professor and director of the International Center for Science and Engineering Programs in the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. After graduation in Chemical Engineering from University of São Paulo, Brazil, he completed his graduate studies at Kyoto University, Japan, from where he earned his Dr. Eng. degree in 1993, in Combustion Chemistry. In adidition to conducting research on chemical reactions, he also teaches English for Specific Purposes to students of science and engineering, and his main interests in this area are currently on the analysis of the role of language in science education.
