Abstract

Academic dishonesty contains various wrong academic practices, for example, replicating others' answers during tests or examinations, getting improper assistance from others in finishing assignments, and utilizing data without properly refering to sources (Qualls, Figgars & Gibbs, 2017). Another form of academic dishonesty is plagiarism; theft or abuse of intellectual property, and the use of someone else's work without reference (Juyal, Thawani & Thalemi, 2015). In recent years, with the widespread use of technology, there are many research findings indicating that computer and internet use facilitates and boosts academic research. As a result of this, it is stated that academic dishonesty is increasing.
It could be said that it is important to pay attention to the academic ethic rules of the teacher candidates who will work in the pre-school education defined as the educational process given in the families and the institutions, which covers the period from birth to basic education and the social, emotional, physical and mental development which play a big role in the later life of the children.
The purpose of this research is to examine internet-triggered academic dishonesty among pre-school teacher candidates. The research is a survey type of quantitative research methods. Population of  the research consists of pre-service teachers who study in the faculty of education at a state university in Turkey. In this study it was not selected to define a sample, because it is aimed to reach the whole population. Internet-Triggered Academic Dishonesty scale developed by Akbulut et al. (2008) was used as data collection tool in the survey. The scale consists of two parts. The first part consists of 26 items and 5 factors in which the opinions of the teacher candidates about academic dishonesty were determined. The second part consists of 16 items and 3 factors in which opinions of teacher candidates about the causes of academic dishonesty were determined. Scale was prepared in 5-point likert scale. In the analysis of the data, parametric or non-parametric tests will be preferred according to the normality conditions. As the analysis process still continues, findings and results will be available after the analysis process.
