Abstract

The purpose of this work was to analyze the educational objectives of formal and informal learning in university students, for which work was carried out in the generation of a model of portable and open learning objects through which students could access in a complementary way to their training. In this process, a pedagogical and technological foundation of the learning object generation models and the proposal of one focused on the context and interests of the students in question was achieved. The study began with the following questions: What are the learning objectives of university students? What specific topics do you contribute to your training? Are learning objects a tool that students prefer? From these questions, we proceeded to review the literature on the subject to define the theoretical framework. Afterwards, the characteristics of the scenario where the problem to be investigated was addressed, taking as a frame of reference the Universidad del Atlántico and its institutional dimension of public university. As a research method we used the exploratory method and validation of experts, resorting to the technique of physical and electronic questionnaires for experts and users, we explored several categories related to the central research topic, including learning, educational objectives, formal and informal learning. This study funded by the Universidad Del Atlántico in the framework of the seventh internal call of the year 2016 and developed in 2017 by the group of research group Educational Research and Scientific Technology "GECIT". Finally, among the results of the study we found that students prefer technological and pedagogical tools with e-Learning standards (online or portable), which facilitate the understanding of specific contents and the accessibility of them. The contents that students select mostly refer clearly to their areas of interest. Formal study, however, could identify issues that are part of their informal learning. The research was directed towards the definition of a pedagogical and structural model of learning objects that allows a better training of university students.
