Abstract

The Music program of Juan de Castellanos University is committed to a musical education that fosters collaborative work environments and aesthetic appreciation according to the mission of the university above mentioned, a Catholic confessional institution. Take advantage of an enriched environment at a regional level (Tunja-Colombia) and with a long tradition in musical and artistic practice It is based on the idea that musical expression contains a capacity for sharing emotions, sensations and amplifying the reception and enjoyment of an audience. For this reason, "teaching music, musically" implies an attention to values and the humanization of the formative experience as a guarantee of meaningful musical expression. The musical in this order of ideas, is assumed as an experience not only technical in the interpretation, but above all, in the ability of students to think musically and with skills and competencies to be part of community and social projects in which the music develops its mediating and communicative function. It is through this perspective that a series of innovations in teaching is generated, always favouring the balance between the technique and the character that the musician should have as an artist. The paper wants to show the advantages of some musical training processes with these characteristics and to foster meetings with other researchers of music education who wish to strengthen this field of study.
