Abstract

Historically attention to early childhood in Colombia had no care or formal supervision by the government, it was exercised by women empirically without specific training which generated a multitude of problems. In the last 10 years, education and care for children has improved and has been the focus of government policies. Initiatives such as "De cero a siempre" generated a series of projects of diverse nature that improved the situation of early childhood care in Colombia. However, different associated problems persist: poverty, child abuse, malnutrition, illiteracy, attention to diverse children's populations, among others. To contribute to the reduction of these problems of child care, Juan de Castellanos University, through post-graduation program in education and intervention for early childhood, trains professors and professionals interested in the area who can generate proposals and initiatives aimed at improvement of the care and attention conditions of such population. This work shows how from the review and characterization of the different degree works elaborated by the students of the postgrad in education and intervention for the early childhood during the period 2015-2018, the main concerns of the caregivers and their practices were identified of care and intervention and / or associated imaginaries. In the same way, the professional profiles of caregivers, their needs for early childhood care, learning processes in children, aspects associated with integral development, parental styles of parenting, among others, are typified in these practices. those educational practices that stand out as significant for the articulation of educational projects with innovative features. It is hoped that this work can contribute to the knowledge of the ways in which different professionals in different contexts and in a particular region of Colombia, provide care for children and how training allows them to face the difficulties related to their valuable profession. On the other hand, the proposed study provides relevant data on the impact of the program in the region, which favours its self-evaluation processes and clarity on the relationship with the external sector related to the care and attention of children.
