Mediatization of Linguistic Learning: A Study of the Potential of a Transmedia Project for the Linguistic Adaptation of Foreign Students in Russia

Abstract

The process of mediatization is currently relevant, due to the active development of technologies and the Internet, which also affects the topic of education.  However, at the moment, the topic of mediatization of traditional education has not been fully studied, since technologies are constantly developing.  This study is devoted to the creation of a project for the adaptation of foreign students in Russia, taking into account the traditional methods of teaching foreign languages, which have undergone improvements and changes with the pace of technology development, and their transformation into a media format, that is, the use of various applications, sites, podcasts and other tools for studying foreign languages.  The purpose of our research is to superficially study traditional teaching methods and their use in modern methods of learning foreign languages. To achieve this goal, the following methods will be used: benchmarking of  applications, web-sites and other tools for studying foreign languages, and online survey of foreign students in Russia.
