Confidence with Using Technology, Internet Addiction, and Students’ Attitude towards the Use of Internet: From the Lens of Visayas State University - Isabel Students

Abstract
The research study investigates the VSU-Isabel students’ Confidence with Using Technology, Internet Addiction, and Student's Attitude towards the Use of Internet. The study is quantitative research and employed descriptive research design to get the mean and standard deviation of the students’ responses in all items in the survey. The participants were selected using convenience sampling technique from 1st to 5th year students of Visayas State University- Isabel. This research study developed an online survey questionnaire via Google form and used correlational research approach in analyzing the relationship of the variables. The total number of participants who responded to the survey was 687 students. The research study reveals thatVSU-Isabel students were moderately confident with using technology for school purposes with an overall mean of 3.77 (Agree). Another finding shows the overall mean of 2.94 (Frequently) which means that VSU-Isabel students were addicted to the internet. In addition, the result reveals that the VSU-Isabel students showed a positive attitude towards the use of the internet with an overall mean of 3.80 (Agree). Additionally, there is a significant moderate positive correlation between Confidence with Using Technology and the Student's Attitude towards the Use of Internet. There is a significant low positive correlation between Confidence with Using Technology and Internet Addiction. There is also a significant low positive correlation between Internet Addiction and Student's Attitude towards the Use of Internet.
