The Future of Education

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is considered an important partner for all stakeholders when it comes to “Education for Sustainable Development” (ESD) as well as arts education.The first part gives an introduction into the background of the discussion on arts education and ESD within the framework of UNESCO and UN.The second part presents and analyzes examples contributed by arts education stakeholders around the world. The third part attempts to systematize the lesson that can be learned from these examples. It also proposes a first, preliminary grid or framework as a base for a “sustainable arts education” to be developed in the future.
