The Future of Education

The paper outlines the main funding opportunities that the European Union provides to foster the international cooperation in the fields of education and research.

The paper starts with an introduction to the strategy for the building of the European Education Area.
Within European Education Area strategy the paper presents and describes the main characteristics of some of the most important new funding Programmes that can be relevant for researchers and higher education institutions to finance their researches, their mobility and their career development, Erasmus+ 2021 providing funding opportunities in the field of Education, Training, Youth and Sport and Horizon Europe, providing funding opportunities in the field of Research and Innovation.
The paper briefly presents each of the mentioned Programme main objectives, funding schemes and budget.
Furthermore, issues related to quality project planning are addressed.
Finally some examples of initiatives, already funded by the European Commission are provided.
