Hilal Arslan Şeker is currently working as a school psychological counselor at a high school in Türkiye.
She earned her bachelor's degree in Guidance and Psychological Counseling from Abant İzzet Baysal University in 2015 and began working under the Ministry of National Education as a school counselor the same year. She has over ten years of professional experience in school-based counseling services. In 2021, she completed her master’s degree in Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Ankara University and started her doctoral studies in the same field at Anadolu University. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate and in the dissertation phase of her studies. Her doctoral research focuses on the development of a psychoeducational program for parents.
Alongside her postgraduate education, Hilal has received advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Play Therapy. She provides individual and group counseling to children, adolescents, and adults, addressing both developmental and clinical concerns.
Hilal plays an active role in the design and implementation of in-service training programs for school counselors.
With her expertise in the field of addiction, she regularly conducts seminars on addiction in both school and community-based settings. She also leads preventive group interventions and therapeutic practices. In her professional work, she integrates evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and structured primary prevention programs. She places particular emphasis on applying innovative and research-informed methods to maximize client outcomes.
Hilal has also contributed to the academic field through her oral presentation titled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence Applications in the Counseling Process.” One of her key research interests is learning psychology. In her master’s thesis, she examined the academic motivation levels of high school students and has developed a strong interest in the cognitive and contextual variables that influence learning and information processing in educational settings.
