Zuhal Guvener is an experienced educator, educational leader, and consultant with over 25 years of international experience in Germany, Spain, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. She is currently a Social Studies and History teacher at an IB school, United Kids Montenegro, and the co-owner of Z&S Global Consultancy, where she focuses on educational consultancy and European projects, including her involvement in the SEE-GL-101181098 initiative. Previously, she spent many years at the International University of Sarajevo, where she managed international admissions, visa and residence permit processes, and exchange programs. During her tenure, she initiated 42 Erasmus+ KA107 projects and established over 100 international partnerships, mainly with institutions in Spain, France, Turkey, and Poland. Her earlier career includes roles as Director of Studies at various language institutions and coordinating US Embassy-funded educational projects for underprivileged youth in Turkey, international short term programs in transitional justice and reconciliation among others.
Zuhal holds a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature from the International University of Sarajevo and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language Teaching from Hacettepe University. She is fluent in English and Turkish, with basic knowledge of German and BCSM. Known for her proactive and solution-oriented approach, she has a long-standing commitment to working in multicultural and multilingual environments, managing international projects, and supporting student mobility and academic collaboration. Her research interests include circular economy, gamification, sustainability, peace and security, reconciliation, curriculum development, and materials design. In addition to her professional work, Zuhal is a published poet and short story writer, with works appearing in various journals and a poetry compilation.
