Maria da Graça Magalhães holds a degree in Mathematics – Educational Branch (five years) from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, completed in 1994. In 2011, she earned a master’s degree in educational sciences – Pedagogical Supervision in Mathematics Education from the University of Minho.
Additionally, she completed a Postgraduate Specialized Training Course in School Administration and Educational Organization, accredited by the Scientific and Pedagogical Council for Continuing Education (Accreditation Registration CCPFC/CFE-3184/17, completed on July 18, 2018).
She is currently in the 3rd year of her PhD in Educational Sciences at the University of Trás-os-
Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), with research focused on “Cooperative Learning as a Promoter of Critical and Creative Thinking in Mathematics A Students.” She is a collaborating researcher at the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) at the University of Porto.
Graça Magalhães has been a Mathematics A secondary school teacher (Group 500) for 32 years. Since 2003, she has served as the coordinator of the Mathematics Section at Henrique Medina Secondary School in Esposende.
She currently coordinates the Department of Mathematics and Experimental Sciences and is a member of the school's Pedagogical Council.
Areas of expertise: Cooperative Learning, Critical and Creative thinking, Mathematical Argumentation, Assessment, Mathematics Education, Educational Leadership and School Administration.
