Carrie’s passion in Education for young children is evident through her leadership in the pedagogical work at Rosie's. Professionally Carrie continues to strive to learn. She has engaged in 2 study tours to the Schools of Reggio Emilia (Italy) in 2000 & 2012 and her service has hosted participants of the Reggio Emilia Information Exchange Australia in both Twilight Visits and Landscapes of Wonder Conference in 2012, 2013 and 2015.
Carrie presents at many conferences and shares the work of herself, the Educators and children of Rosie's. Her presentations at Early Childhood Australia Conference in 2014 & 2016 and Reggio Australia 2015 on ‘Children Enacting Citizenship’ captured the strong philosophical values of the curriculum Carrie has led at Rosie’s.
Carrie is committed to the community of Logan (where Rosie's is located) and better outcomes for young children. One in three children in Logan have been identified in vunerable developmental concerns affecting schooling outcomes. As a proactive member of the $10M Logan Together Project Carrie is a committee member of the Child & Family Chapter and Education Chapter of Logan Together. These Chapters influence how children are viewed in Logan and contribute to projects such as Workforce Development and Increasing Father Engagement.
