Eva Haug is a lecturer Intercultural Competence and Internationalisation Coordinator at the Faculty of Business and Economics, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Since 2015 she’s also the COIL coordinator for the Faculty of Business, making her responsible for embedding virtual collaboration in the curriculum, maintaining the partner network and professionalizing lecturers to internationalise their curriculum.

Eva has a Master degree in Spanish Literature and Culture from the University of Amsterdam in 1992. Since then she has been working in the field of higher education, languages and internationalisation.

As a lecturer, Eva specializes in Intercultural Competence, or Cross Cultural Skills, where the focus is on expanding cultural awareness of the own culture and increasing sensitivity for other cultures.

At the Faculty of Business, she consults the management on Internationalisation at Home and quality control of international projects. She has developed a policy plan which enables the Faculty to internationalise the programme through staff mobility, virtual mobility, internationalisation of the curriculum and international events. She’s responsible for the partner network of the Faculty and seeks to build sustainable and mutually beneficiary partnerships.

She is an expert in collaborative online international projects, in which students learn to collaborate in international virtual projects. She has been involved in international educational projects since 2007. The partners with whom she has collaborated come from varying countries, such as Finland, Spain and Austria in Europe, but also the US, Australia, Mexico and Vietnam.

Eva has been invited to speak about her experiences and expertise about virtual collaboration at conferences such as EAIE, INTED in Europe, SUNY COIL in the US and FAUBAI in Brazil.
In addition she gives workshops and training for lecturers interested in virtual collaboration or internationalisation of the curriculum.
