The Future of Education

Donna Wynne-Markham began her Australian Industry Trade College journey as an English Teacher in June 2017 after seeing how educational outcomes could be achieved through alternate pathways. With an education career spanning 20 years, she has found herself being drawn to both primary and secondary teaching. Majoring in English and Visual Art, she has held coordination and departmental roles in Private and Public Education settings. Awarded Pearson Education’s Teaching Collaboration Prize in 2016 for her contribution in developing Philosophical Inquiry Practices in Middle School Secondary Education, Donna went on to work with the Education Queensland International (EQI) Program by teaching Chinese English as a Second Language Teachers how to use fables as a conduit to Philosophical Inquiry. The success of these workshop led to an invitation to teach in China.
Currently she has taken on the role of the Teaching & Learning Facilitator for the Australian Industry Trade College where she is working on project-based developments such as the Teaching and Learning Framework implementation for the AITC Education Model with Independent Schools Queensland, creating and implementing a 3 Year Program that focuses on hands-on learning through outdoor education which will expose young people to intellectual, physical and emotional challenges in a technology free environment, as well as working with the AITC Company to establish the fourth Campus which incorporates individualised learning partnerships with TAFE Queensland Australia, business and university pathways.
Donna’s partner, Jason, is also an educator, and together with their two teenage children.
