Elizabeth Ruiz Esparza Barajas has the Doctor of Applied Linguistics from Macquarie University and an M.A in Education from the Institute of Education University of London. She teaches at the University of Sonora in the pedagogical strand of the B.A in English Language Teaching and Research methods at the Doctorate in Humanities.
Among the different administrative positions she has held, she was Head of the Foreign Languages Department and Academic Secretary of the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts at the University of Sonora. She currently coordinates the Research Group of Applied Linguistics in Foreign Languages at the same university. She is a member of the Board of the National Network for Research Groups in Foreign Languages in Mexico (RECALE).
The books, articles and book chapters she has published are in the area of her research interests which are beliefs, teacher education, pedagogy and assessment.
