Ana Belén Martínez García is a PhD Assistant Professor at the University of Navarra in Spain. She is currently teaching English Language and Culture modules, Business Communication and Translation at the Faculty of ISSA – School of Management Assistants. In the past, she has also taught various English modules at the same faculty at different levels of expertise, for students of first and final year of the Degree in Management Assistance.
Ana Belén graduated in English Studies from the University of Oviedo in 2002. She then went on to conduct her master’s thesis, research courses, and she holds a PhD in English Studies.
For the last 15 years, she has constantly been teaching languages as well as conducting research in the field of literature in English and Spanish. For the last 6 years, she has been working in Higher Education contexts. Before starting her current position, she worked as a tourist guide (2003), as an English teacher (2004-2013), as a French teacher (2004-2005), as a German teacher (2005-2006), Spanish for foreign speakers (2005-2008), and as a freelance translator (2011). She also has experience in higher education contexts previous to her current position, teaching English at the Distance-Learning Programme of the University in Spain (UNED - Pamplona) in 2012. She started working at the University of Navarra in 2013, where she has been Head of the English Department at ISSA – School of Management Assistants (2013-2016).
Ana Belén has lived abroad in several European and non-European countries for extensive periods of time in order to improve her level of expertise in those languages: 1 month in Italy (2000), 3 months in France (1995, 1996, 1997), 5 months in Germany (July – August 1993, August 1995, September 1997, August 1999), 18 months in the United Kingdom (September 2000 – July 2001, January – June 2017), and over 4 years in the United States (January 2007 – March 2011).
She has particapted in PhD dissertation panels and is a student counsellor.
