Damir Velički is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb. He is teaching Phonetics and phonology of German language, Political system in Germany and Austria, Civic Education.
His scientific interest is interdisciplinary and includes areas of political science and philology. In the field of Political Science, he explores the area of comparative politics, as well as the problems of political extremism and the suppression and prevention thereof. In his philological work, political terminology and the mutual influence of the mother tongue and a foreign language are at the centre of interest. He is the author of the book German in Politics. German-Croatian political terminology dictionary. He is a member of the editorial board of Croatian Journal of Education, and of the Croatian Political Science Association, as well as the member of Croatian Association of Literary Translators.
