Merve Ozdemir was born on December 2000, and is currently a junior in Hisar School in Istanbul, Turkey. She is especially interested in science, and hopes to study Molecular Biology in college.
Merve Ozdemir is taking several Advanced Placement courses in her school, including AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Psychology, and AP Calculus. She is especially interested in Biology and Chemistry, and she loves to participate in science research projects or experiments in her school. Merve also has interest in the medical field, and is considering studying Medicine after getting her undergraduate degree from Biological Sciences. In 2016, she did an internship in the laboratory, Intensive Care Unit and Physical Therapy departments of the American Hospital in Istanbul for a month. During her internship, she learned a lot about laboratory techniques and devices, which helped her design and carry out the experiment she conducted for the Pixel International Conference: The Future of Education.
Apart from her interest in science and research, Merve is passionate about debating; she has been involved in her school’s Model United Nations activities since 7th grade. She serves as the President of Hisar School MUN Club, and the Secretary-General of Hisar School Junior MUN Conference. She has participated in twenty MUN conferences all around the world.
Merve Ozdemir will be graduating from her high school in June 2019, and hopes study college in the United States.
