Professor Dr. Lars Brehm joined the department of business administration at the Munich University of Applied Sciences (MUAS) in spring 2014. His main areas of research and teaching are project management, business process management, IT management and digitalization.
Professor Brehm studied business administration at the University of Bayreuth and graduated with a degree in business administration. Subsequently, he completed his doctorate at the Chair of Business Informatics on the topic "Management of Enterprise Resources Planning Systems". During this time, he completed a research stay at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management, Claremont Graduate University, California.
In his 10+ years in the industry before starting at MUAS he worked in the consulting sector in numerous international projects to optimize processes and implement them with the help of IT solutions as well as in the fashion industry. His last position before joining academia was the head of SAP competence center at a large multinational company responsible for international (rollout) projects and the operational support of 30+ group countries.
In his previous academic as well as his professional activity, he worked at the interface between business issues and their IT implementation. Another focus was the enabler function of information technology for new business processes and models. In addition to balancing this correlation, the conception of solutions and their implementation in operative organizational and IT system processes through transformation projects was another focus of his work. Professor Brehm has international project experience in more than 25 countries and is a certified Project Management Professional (by PMI) and a Professional Scrum Master (by Scrum.org).
