Inga Zeide is studying Pedagogy in her doctoral studies at the University of Latvia. Her academic interests are connected with the adult education processes, education as a dimension of well-being, learning trends and challenges in workplaces. Inga has a Master’s degree in the Baltic Sea Region Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science.

Since 2002 Inga has been involved in the educational business. She started a franchising of Berlitz Inc. in Latvia and is the owner of the company Communication Teachers Group (CTG). The company works in the field of non-formal education and provides language training for children and adults. Most of Berlitz and later CTG clients are corporate. There is a wide range of the largest companies in Latvia, both private and public.

In December 2016 Inga started to work as the Project Manager of the EUSF “Improvement of the Industry Qualification System for the Development of Vocational Education System and Provision of Quality”. The aim of the project is to upgrade vocational education system in Latvia according to the changing labour market requirements.

Inga has always been active and responsible in the adult education field. As the owner of CTG she was elected as a member of the Council of Knowledge Economy by Latvian Chamber of Commerce and worked actively there from 2012 to 2015. From 2014 to 2015 Inga was a member of Advisory Council “Education for All”. In 2016 Inga was a representative of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce in the Adult Education Management Council.

Research experience, presentations and publications
• 2017. Reasearch „The theoretical aspects of well-being in the contect of lifelong learning“

The article deals with the qualitative content analysis of the documents of EU, OECD, data of the projects of Office of National Statistics in Latvia, the U.K. and Germany, research of Ruff (1995), Rath and Harter (2010), Layard (2005), Rohr (2014), etc. The dimensions of life quality in different sources and by different authors have been defined similarly indicating that the qualitative indicators are as important as the quantitative. It is clear that the quality of life cannot be measured only by quantitative indicators such as income or birth / mortality. This article discusses the theoretical aspects of such dimension of life quality as well-being in different sources, compares and analyses them in the Latvian context.

• 2016. Reasearch „Adult education trends in the enterprises in Latvia“

The article deals with the survey carried out at 27 enterprises in Latvia. The aim of this study was to find out how companies in Latvia tackle the issues of adult education and to outline the main trends in adult education in the past 3 years (that is – in the period from 2013 until the beginning of 2016). The Human Resource managers of 27 companies representing over 18 000 employees were interviewed during the survey. The following research questions have been put forward: what the attitude of different types of organizations: private, state, municipality is towards the employees’ education, what the priorities of learning are, how learning is supported, planned, promoted in organizations.
