María-Eugenia Ruiz is Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Valencia (Spain) and consultant at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. She is PhD in Economics and Business Administration (2007) at the Universitat of Valencia and Bachelor in Psychology (specialized in Organizational Psychology) at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (2006).
Her main teaching and research interests include innovation in education, e-learning, international marketing, sustainability, ICT, and consumer behaviour. She has taught these topics as a visitant lecturer in undergraduate and postgraduate courses at several European Universities.
She has published articles in several international journals as the International Journal of Hospitality Management, The Service Industries Journal, Journal of Service Marketing, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Industrial Management & Data Systems Journal, Management Decision, Journal of Vacation Marketing, Management of Environmental Quality, CAB Reviews Perspectives in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Nutrition and Natural Resources, International Journal of Environmental and Sustainable Development, among others. The findings of her research have resulted in more than 60 articles published in international peer-reviewed academic journals, and 32 book chapters in co-authorship with other researchers, and one book published as a single author. She has participated as a researcher in 19 research competitive projects financed by public institutions, being two of them financed by the EIT Climate KIC: i.e. Biohorizons pathfinder project and European Certified Professionals. In particular, Certified Professional aims at developing the first European certification scheme to certify competences of professionals in the area of sustainability.
