Annalisa Raffone (17/02/1992) is a PhD student attending an Innovative PhD with Industrial characterization (PON R&I 2014/2020) in Digital Storytelling in Second Language Acquisition at “L’Orientale” University of Naples (Italy), Department of Linguistic, Literary and Comparative studies.
She is member of UNIOR NLP Research Group - local node of AIIS - National Laboratory at CINI (National Interuniversity Consortium for Informatics) - Scientific Director: Prof. PhD Johanna Monti.
After her Classical studies, she started her academic career in 2010 at “L’Orientale” University of Naples where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in American and European Languages, Literatures and Cultures in 2013 cum Laude.
She then earned her Master’s degree in Modern Languages for International Cooperation and Communication at the University of Naples “Suor Orsola Benincasa” in 2015 cum Laude.
During her Master’s degree she took part in the Erasmus Program spending seven months studying at “Universidad Carlos III” in Madrid (Spain).
As a Phd student she is currently working in the field of Second Language Acquisition (SLA), English as a second language (ESL), Innovative Learning Environments, Digital Gaming, Natural Language Processing.
Her research project focuses on the developments and effects that Digital Storytelling provides in Second Language Acquisition and, in particular, in English as a second language.
As part of the industrial PhD program, she is now working in collaboration with a software-developer company by developing role-playing computer games for SLA.
She also holds a “Digital Storytelling Laboratory” at “L’Orientale” University of Naples.
She is winner of DISTCO (Digital Storytelling Contest - 2018): Best Digital Story in category of English Language Arts.
She is involved in a series of projects: she is annotator at PARSEME-shared task on automatic identification of MWEs and she is member of PARSEME-IT-Syntactic Parsing and Multiword Expressions in Italian.
She is also member of the Organizing Committee of the Graduate Conference 2018 at “L’Orientale” University of Naples.
In July 2017 she took part in iOS Foundation Program - A Partnership with Apple.
From January to July 2018 she worked as a Phd associate in the Research Group in Computational Linguistics (RGCL) at the University of Wolverhampton (UK) .
