David Th. Ausserhuber is academic mediator, trauma pedagogue and founder of the mediation and art contact platform ICUMEDA Intercultural Mediation & Art, combining intercultural mediation initiatives with creative ideas of art and culture. He introduces himself as trilingual freelance intercultural mediator and trauma pedagogue and currently holds a lectureship in conflict management at Sigmund Freud University in Austria since 2018.

Educate, mediate, create – this being David’s motto he did benefit from several research frameworks that allowed him to collect, apply, share and publish his expertise. Therefore, he was based as intercultural mediator for academic mediation and trauma pedagogy research at two locations, which was from 09/20215 to 08/2021 in the context of war in Kabul, Afghanistan and in the context of flight in Brenner, Austria, as well as at the latter location (which extends itself over a historic thermal bath area) additionally in the context of sanitation from 09/2021 to 03/2022. This particular academic background combined with his on-going study focus on sanitation gave impetus to the current research on the potential use of thermal springs in trauma pedagogy.
