I am currently the Coordinator: Professional Experience Partnerships.
I am based at the Mawson Lakes campus of the University of South Australia travelling to education sites around South Australia. This role is designed to assist in the development of meaningful relationships with education sites to enable Pre-Service Teachers to carry out their placements and to offer sites excellent support from our Pre-Service Teachers with their educational programs.
Previously I worked as the Coordinator: Anangu Tertiary Education Program (AnTEP) in a community based tertiary education program run by the University of South Australia for Anangu students living in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands (APY Lands), at Yalata on the west coast of South Australia and at Oak Valley in the Maralinga Tjarutja Lands. AnTEP prepared Anangu students to become independent classroom teachers in their own community schools and provided courses to enable Anangu Education Workers (AEWs) to upgrade their professional knowledge and competencies. The AnTEP program offered two awards: Diploma in Education (Anangu Education) Bachelor of Teaching (Anangu Education). I have spent many years working as an adult educator and as a classroom teacher in communities in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands (APY Lands).
