The Future of Education

Vivienne Wilson is currently the deputy dean for Academic and Student Affairs at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of the Western Cape. Her portfolio includes Teaching and Learning at the faculty. She qualified as a specialist prosthodontist at the University of the Western Cape and was the head of the Restorative Cluster before taking up the position of deputy dean. She was actively involved in the training of under- and postgraduate students in the field of removable prosthodontics. As deputy dean she is responsible for curriculum development, teaching and learning as well as student support in the faculty. Her interests are in students’ understanding of theory and the translation thereof into practice, as well as the dental students’ experience at the university.
