Alonso Mateo Gomez holds a PhD in Psychology, a Master in Education and a Degree in Primary school teaching.
His initial university education (1992-95) was Primary school teacher, in the specialty of English, followed by a working stay in the United Kingdom during the years 1995-96. Later he complemented his teaching work in non-university education with a Degree in Pedagogy (2004), a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Educational Psychology (2010) and a PhD in Psychology (2016).
From the course 1997-98 to the present (2019) he has been working as a primary school education teacher. During these years he performed as tutor and English specialist in primary education (1997-2007), teacher of therapeutical pedagogy (2007-2018) and coordinator of Erasmus projects in Secondary Education (2013-2018). This responsibility has led to several mobilities with teachers and pupils to secondary education schools in Germany, Romania, Portugal, Poland, Turkey, Italy, Bulgaria and Czech Republic. These and other innovation experiences, such as the healthy schools project, the introduction to scientifilcal thinking of preschool children's or international Etwinning projects, have drawn results, presented in different international congresses.
In the course 2016-2017 he started teaching as an associate professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, in the English Department of the Faculty of Education in Albacete, teaching English Didactics and Curriculum Design and Development in
English language. He has tutorized several final degree projects and final master projects.
In the academic year 2017-2018 he achieved an Erasmus KA107 grant for a stay in The University Notre Dame-Louaize of Lebanon, where he stayed for a month.
His teaching and management experience in non-university education has a clear international vocation that is relevant to the performance as professor at the university.
As for research, he has collaborated and developed studies on autobiographical memory in preschool children and participated in research projects at the Psychology Department in the University of Castilla La Mancha.
