Sarah Ritchey Patterson earned a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Youngstown State University in 2013. In 2019, she completed her Ph.D. in Mathematics from Duke University where she worked on fluid-structure interaction problems.
Currently, Sarah is an assistant professor at the Virginia Military Institute in the Applied Mathematics Department. She is focused on incorporating mathematical modelling into the applied mathematics curriculum. Sarah actively advises undergraduate research projects and uses this perspective to enhance her teaching.
Sarah also enjoys hiking with her two dogs.
