Irina-Ana Drobot was born in 1983, in Bucharest, Romania. She is currently a lecturer at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages, Department of Foreign Languages and Communication. Since 2007, when she started working here as a junior teaching assistant, over the years she has taught English and French foreign language seminars for engineers, an English practical course for the students in the Translators and Interpreters section, courses in Culture and Civilization and Academic Ethics for engineers and translators and interpreters, a course in Pragmatics for translators and interpreters, a seminar in Phonetics and a seminar in Syntax for translators and interpreters a course in European Union and Its Instututions for translators and interpreters and a course in Project Management for translators and interpreters.
During 2002-2014 she has studied at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, as follows:
• BA: English-French, linguistics and literature (2002-2006)
• MA: Applied Linguistics – Modern Foreign Language Teaching (2006-2007)
• PhD: Literature (2008-2014), Literary and Cultural Studies Doctoral School – with the thesis Virginia Woolf and Graham Swift: the Lyrical Novel, advisor Professor Lidia Vianu, PhD.
Other studies include:
• 2016-2018 – Master's Degree in Political Science, National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Bucharest.
• 2019–2021 – Master’s Degree in Project Management (English-taught program), National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Bucharest.
• 2022 – Postgraduate course in Personal Data Management in the Public Sector, Faculty of Public Administration, National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Bucharest.
Irina-Ana Drobot has published, next to her PhD thesis (Virginia Woolf and Graham Swift: The Lyrical Novel, Argonaut Publishing House, Cluj, Romania, 2014), the following book: The Use of Images and the Visual Sense for Foreign Language Teaching, LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing (May 18, 2017), 52 pages,
