The Future of Education

Dr. Gohar Marikyan is a recipient of two award, Susan H. Turben Chair in Mentoring and Susan H. Turben Award for Excellence in Scholarship. She is a Full Professorof Mathematics and Computer Science at State University of New York Empire State University, Manhattan, NY. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics (research Ph.D. in Mathematical Logic) and MS degree in Computer Science (research master’s degree in Theory of Algorithms). She is an Oracle Certified Database Administrator (OCP). Dr. Marikyan continues to actively pursue her research in mathematical logic, math education and its history. The results and findings of her research she presents in domestic and international conferences and publishes in a number of scientific peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Marikyan has published her book “Anania Shirakatsi’s Tvabanutiun: World’s Oldest Manuscript on Arithmetic. Part 1: Addition.” Keeping up with advances in technology, Professor Marikyan continues to create new courses in mathematics and computer science for her students (undergraduate and graduate levels).
