The Future of Education

Marlene Ribeiro. Degree in Design (2008) and Master in Design (2009) from the University of Aveiro. Completed the Advanced Design Studies Course (2013) at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon and is PhD in Design (2021) from the University of Aveiro. Researcher at ID+ Research Institute for Design, Media and Culture, University of Aveiro through the MADE.PT Critical Design Lab for Growth and Prosperity since 2012 and as integrated member since 2021. Currently is Invited Adjunct Professor at School of Education, Polytechnic Institute of Viseu and Caldas da Rainha School of Arts and Design, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria where she teaches Drawing, Project in Design, Project in Arts and Multimedia, Visual Culture and Image Theory.. As researcher, participated in the project Towards a Design Observatory: models, instruments, representations and strategies, a national project that looks at design as a factor of innovation as well as cultural and socioeconomic development. The project collects and interprets data from the Portuguese Design ecosystem to promote its knowledge and to influence public policies. Marlene co-organised the REDE#04 4th Design Schools Meeting in Portugal.
