Satu-Maarit Frangou is a media education student from Lapland University, finishing her Master’s thesis in summer 2016. The subject of her thesis is about writing methods, memory retrieval and embodied cognition.
Her study is multidisciplinary, combining media education with cognitive psychology. Satu is aiming to continue to doctoral studies in the same fields. Satu has a Bachelor’s degree in Media Education from Lapland University. Her minor subjects are Information and Communication Technologies in Teaching and Learning, Philosophy and Policy Research, as well as Modern Greek Philology. Additionally, she is studying Cognitive Neuroscience in University of Jyväskylä. She has also passed the course on Fundamentals of Neuroscience in Harvard University, USA, in 2015.
Satu’s latest work experience is from Vihti municipality where she worked as primary school teacher from 2011 to 2014 in Huhmarnummi. As other professional activities, she has been the chief administrator of the Finnish School of Larnaca and Famagusta in Cyprus from 2004 to 2011. She is also the founder of Finnish Library in Larnaca, Cyprus (part of Larnaca Municipal Library) consisting of 1145 Finnish books.
Satu has poster presentation experience from Finnish Educational Research Conference 19.-20.11.2015 in Åbo Akademi University, Vaasa, and CICERO Learning, Brain and Technology workshop 18.03.2016 in Helsinki University. She co-presented at The Finnish Society for Research on Adult Education Conference, 18.-19.02.2016 in Jyväskylä University, and she gave a presentation in Interactive Technology in Education Conference 13.-15.04.2016.
