Anna Wilk is a lecturer at the Karolinska Institutet (KI) and has a BSc in molecular
biology and a PhD in Physiology. She has an assignment as pedagogical promotor
at the department of laboratory medicine. She teaches physiology at several
courses and programs at KI. In her research she focuses on the effects of sex
hormones on peripheral tissue and the cardiovascular system.
Elected by the students as the best teacher of the year at the nursing
program in 2015
Her vision for teaching and learning is that the education should be student
centered. The teacher should provide learning activities that, in addition to
the course learning outcomes will develop the students´ critical thinking
and problem solving. As a pedagogical promotor she wants to stimulate the teachers to work scholarly with teaching and learning.
She uses various pedagogical methods in teaching, and she has developed
learning activities for both distance- and campus-based education. She teaches
students at the nursing-, occupational therapy-, physiotherapy-, and
biomedical scientist programs at KI. She is a teacher, course leader and
examiner courses in e.g. anatomy and physiology and has designed courses in physiology by defining the curriculum, creating the learning activities and the examinations. She is involved in continuous course development in her role as pedagogical promotor at the department.
