Katerina Stroblova

Katerina Stroblova works as a vice-director and a coordinator of Italian courses at the Institute of Applied Language Studies.
She holds a PhD in Theory and History of Science and Technics (University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, 2011) focused on the history of science in literary works of Umberto Eco and a MA in Italian Filology (Charles University, Prague, 2003) focused on ICT tools in language teaching.
From the academic year 2003 she works at the University of West Bohemia as a coordinator and teacher of Italian courses as well as the coordinator of the International Summer Language School and of the Student Professional Conference in Foreign Languages. At the same time she is engaged as a teacher of Italian language at the Conservatory of Pilsen where she works mostly with opera singers. She is a member of Associazione amici dellĀ“Italia.
Katerina Stroblova works also as a freelance translator and interpreter from Italian and Czech languages, specialized in legal translations.
She is the author of various e-learning courses (Italian language I, II, Italian for Erasmus students), digital teaching materials (Italian language lessons for secondary schools) and a database for Italian-Czech thematic dictionary.
Her research interests include Italian language teaching and learning, translation in language teaching and learning, tools and methods in language teaching and learning, music in language teaching and learning, translation of lyrical texts.
