Dr Vincent O'Connell comes from Cork city in Ireland and is a Teaching Assistant at the University of Limerick where he lectures on Modern European History and Historiography. He has published on Belgian history in the past and is currently preparing his doctoral dissertation for publication. Vincent is also a qualified second level teacher having graduated from University College Cork in 2008 with a postgraduate diploma in education.
He incorporates many of the skills and methodology associated with that pedagogical arena into this work at third level. He is particularly interested in reigniting the relationship between students and their lecturers and tutors through the use of film and other forms of multimedia. He is very passionate about his teaching and believes that the third level environment needs to reconfigure its pedagogical architecture particularly in the arts, to ensure better student engagement and learning.
