Barb Kidd is the Dean of the School of Health, Community and Social Justice at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) in Vancouver Canada. JIBC is a unique public post-secondary institution in specializing in the development of justice and public safety professional through its exceptional applied education, training and research.
Barb holds a Master of Education Degree (Curriculum and Instruction) from the University of Victoria (Canada) and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary (Canada). She has worked in secondary and post-secondary education as an educator and administrator for almost thirty years and brings a passion for innovative teaching and learning, and quality curriculum and instructional design.
Barb will be sharing her experiences with an international project titled, The Agora: an open education faculty development program in student-centred and mobile learning. The project was co-developed by the Justice Institute of British Columbia and the University of Guadalajara, and was recently honoured by the Open Education Consortium (OEC) with a 2017 Open Education Award of Excellence.
