Gulce Goren

Gulce Goren grew up in Izmir, Turkey and attended Ege University for her undergraduate degrees. She holds a B.A in English Language and Literature, with a minor in American Culture and Literature. Whilst studying at university, she attended summer programs on teaching and literature including Literature Summer School at The University of Cambridge. She also received a master’s degree from The University of Edinburgh in General and Comparative Literature. Her dissertation is a comparative study of feminist archetypal theory and the motherhood image in Liz Lochhead's Medea and Ayla Kutlu’s Kadin Destani. She is currently a PhD Candidate in English Language and Literature Program at Ege University. She worked for Citi Bank in Scotland for a year. She also taught Turkish for a charitable organization in Edinburgh. Her first job as an EFL Instructor was at Ege University. She has an ELT Certificate from Dokuz Eylul University and a Testing, Evaluation and Assessment Certificate from Norwich Institute for Language Education. Since 2013, she has been teaching at Yaşar University. Currently, she is working for the Testing and Assessment office. She has attended four conferences and presented papers on contemporary Feminist fairy tales, Film Noir and Chicana Literature.
