Emre Can Aydoğmuş is a student from Turkey, interested in self- education. He has thought himself how to use several CAD programs purely using online sources.
Emre Can is currently a student at Hisar School, an institution that has adopted the k12 education system and is established as a model for other schools to follow in Turkey. Emre has taken part in many of the events hosted by Hisar, and has taken many opportunities ,offered by his school, to get knowledge in the area of robotics, mechanical engineering, and programming. His current interests lie in engineering, and creating opportunities for everyone to get the best education possible.
Emre has been a part of the FRC team in his school all the way from being a simple helper to becoming the lead mechanic. He specialized in mechanics and the CAD design aspect of the robot. His hands on experience with all the aspects of robot making from the design to its programming has given him insight on the engineering design process and manufacturing techniques and limitations that allowed him to become a better 3D designer. His fascination with the world of engineering has lead him to join different competitions ranging from the VEX competition to the BIEA Drone design competition. Through these experiences he learned to be a team player and gained an appreciation for collaboration.
Emre is also a strong advocate for online learning and freedom of information. He believes that the information era that we live in can be utilized to achieve great things. This belief has led him to work on making information as available as possible for as many of possible. He believes that freedom of information will both lead to more material for those who wish to better themselves, and compel companies to employ fairer policies and possibly reduce corruption.
Right now he is working on improving himself through online courses, and translating courses on Coursera in his free time. He is currently working on establishing a AP tutoring system in his school that connects the seniors who have taken the AP courses and the junior class who are following the AP track. He believes that opportunities should be open to those who are willing to take the responsibility and put in the work to better themselves, and works to make education and information open for all who wish to pursue it. He uses his own experience on possible blocks in the way of information to try and work to remove these so that his fellow students can have an easier time.
Emre is a prevalent part in the Coding Summit and Piwars Turkey events as a teacher and part of the organizational committee member. His has given classes on 3D design using Fusion 360 and Machine learning algorithms to curious students.
Emre has worked on creating an Machine Learning curriculum for the new class being prepared to be given in the school. Through this he has gained extensive knowledge of common machine learning algorithms and how they work.
