Giovanna Sotgiu

Giovanna Sotgiu has a degree in Chemistry and is a researcher at the Institute for Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity of the CNR.
She is currently working on the development of keratin-based materials, extracted from wool waste from the textile and food industry, to be used in the biomedical field for the delivery of drugs and devices for tissue regeneration.
In parallel, she has always been involved in the dissemination of scientific information in schools of all levels.
She is in charge of the Junior sector (addresses to students of the age 11-14) within the popularisation science project "The Research Languageā, promoted by the Research Area of Bologna and INAF that since 2003 involves more than 4000 students a year with lessons in class and 800 students attending the annual conference.
