Antonios E. Platsas

Antonios Emmanuel Platsas (LLB (Hons), LLM, PhD, PGCE, FHEA) is an expert in international and comparative law. Antonios is member of the Greek State Bar of Advocates, him having served in academic roles in the UK, Russia, Spain, Poland and elsewhere.

He is the author of The Harmonisation of National Legal Systems: Strategic Models and Factors. His current research relates to the idea of cosmopolitanism and the effect of such an idea on the constitutional laws of States. He has published in such areas as international economic law, the rule of law, comparative legal methodology, the national legal systems of Israel and Japan and legal education.

In addition to serving in various academic roles, Antonios has been Treasurer of the British Association of Comparative Law, University Staff Governor for Academic Base at a British HEI, reviewer in leading academic journals and has reported in 2014 to the International Academy of Comparative Law with regard to the internationalisation of legal education in the UK. Antonios currently supports the law provision at the University of Brighton.
