The Future of Education

I teach ESP within the Foreign Specialised Languages Department, Faculty of Letters, Babes-Bolyai University. My domain of research are Cognitive Linguistics, Pragmatics, Semantics and ESP. In 2015 I published a book entitled Strategies of Communication: Control and Manipulation in Political Discourse (Presa Universitară Clujeană). The main themes tackled in my research focus on discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis and the analysis of the linguistic constructions of different political communication strategies at the discursive level. The articles that I have published so far address political discourse analysis from a linguistic perspective, with emphasis on the discursive techniques of persuasion and manipulation. At the same time, I am also drawn towards research in the domain of ELT as a foreign specialised language, with a focus on the Methodology and Didactics of ESP.
