I am a phd in sociology since 2010. My thesis relates to areas such as sociology of knowledge and science, sociology of organization, sociology of culture, research policy, gender other power relations. Overall, the theme is how different factors interact in what is established as knowledge and science where cultural ideas and aspects of society's organization lie as a foundation.

In the current research project, I take a micro perspective instead of the macro perspective I previously used. The focus is on relationships between teachers and students in classroom situations. I explore the importance of emotional energy in interactions - interaction rituals - between teachers and students, especially in dyadic constellations. Body language, facial expressions, speech rhythm, tone of voice, etc. is important in such contexts as a sign of how the teacher and the student connect, ie whether they adapt to each other, atune in their movements, etc. and emotional energy and social bonds develop.
In a first step, I propose a development of Randall Collin’s theory Interaction Ritual Chains, by introducing the concept of emotional ambience. In a second step, I use the developed theory to analyze an empirical material that consists of filmed interactions between teachers and students in an eighth grade.

I teach in sociology of education, school as a social institution, philosophy of science, qualitative methods, social theory, gender and more in various programs from undergraduate to master's level.
