Dr. Bernadette Kamene Kiarie holds a Ph.D. in Educational Technology, a Master of Education in Educational Communication Technology, Master of Education in Learning Design and Technologies, a Bachelor of Education (Mathematics and Business Studies), a postgraduate diploma in Computer Systems & Applications and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design & Performance Improvement among many other certifications in online learning, Quality Matters and learning design. With over two decades of teaching and more recently instructional design experience across diverse educational environments, she is a seasoned educator and instructional designer. Currently, Bernadette is the Lead Instructional Designer at the United States International University – Africa (USIU-Africa), where she excels in instructional design and online pedagogy working with faculty members to design and develop high quality online programmes in diverse disciplines. Her published research focuses on instructional design work and processes, faculty professional development, online teaching and learning, ICT championship in teaching and learning as well as 21st-century learning design. Dr. Kiarie is also a consultant with Kenya’s Commission for University Education (CUE) where she evaluates proposed degree programs and institutional accreditation in her areas of expertise.
