Jacqueline O’Toole

Dr Jacqueline O’Toole is a lecturer in the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team in the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University. She also has over twenty years’ experience lecturing in Leadership and Management, WIL, HRM, Ethics and Governance. Jacki first became interested in aged care whilst working as a Research Assistant at RMIT, exploring the key skill shortages and related working conditions in the residential aged care sector (RACS). This led to her undertaking her PhD, which investigated the key competencies, skills, and attributes required of leaders in RACS. This study highlighted the lack of research in aged care focussing on compassionate leadership, which has now become a significant interest for Jacki. Her research interests include compassionate leadership, residential aged care, graduate employability and the future of work.
