The Effectiveness of Using Interactive Electronic Whiteboards (IEWB) in English Language Classroom

Abstract

An interactive electronic whiteboard is a powerful tool for developing essential skills in today’s students and helping teachers create fun and engaging lessons. It comes with a wide range of functionalities that makes it suitable for personal, business, and academic environments wheere presentation equipment is needed.
This study aims at identifying and classifying the effectiveness of using  interactive electronic whiteboard on EFL Iraqi college students in English Language classroom. The study is restricted to both teachers and students (males and females) of the third year EFL Iraqi College students during the academic year 2014-2015.
In this study, 12 (male and  female) teachers and 66 (male and female) students  are included.12 teachers are chosen randomly to represent the main study sample. In order to collect the necessary data. Questionnaires are  applied as instruments. The obtained results indicate the weighted mean 33% and 50% as  items that gain low effectiveness from teachers and learners  Consequently, Three items were gain most positive effectiveness. They got and 87% 82.5%.
